Meghalaya State Government
- National Law University of Meghalaya (NLU Meg) was established by the National Law University Meghalaya Act 2022 (No.LL(B)99/2011/Pt./270 Dt. 27/09/2022) which was published in the Gazette of Meghalaya Extra Ordinary Issue dated 27th September 2022 and amended by National Law University Meghalaya (Amendment) Act 2023 (Act No 11 of 2023), No.LL(B)99/2011/Pt./321 Dt. 06/10/2023) which was published in the Gazette of Meghalaya Extra Ordinary Issue dated 06th October 2023.
University Grants Commission
- National Law University of Meghalaya is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) of the UGC Act since 13th December 2023.
Association of Indian Universities
- National Law University of Meghalaya is a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with effect from 01st April 2024 and is placed in the East Zone.
Bar Council of India (BCI)
- National Law University of Meghalaya, Shillong, Meghalaya has been recognized as per Section 7(1)(i) of the Advocates Act, 1961 for the purpose of conferring the Degrees in Law by Bar Council of India as per Letter No BCI:D: 1721:2024 (LE/Std> 16.06.2024) Dt 19.09.2024. Fresh approval has also been granted to National Law University of Meghalaya, Shillong, Meghalaya for imparting five-year BA LL.B(Hons.) course, five-year BBA LL.B(Hons.) course and five-year B.Sc. LL.B(Hons.) course with an intake of one section of 60 students in each course for a period of two years i.e. for the academic years 2024-25 and 2025-26.
International Association of Law Schools (IALS)
- National Law University of Meghalaya is a Member of International Association of Law Schools (IALS). IALS is a consortium of educational institutions offering degrees in law with varied membership benefits to the university, faculties and students.
