An accomplished academician, eminent legal scholar, and experienced administrator, Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Jajodia Mozika brings over two decades of distinguished service in legal education. Her areas of academic specialization include Constitutional and Administrative Law, Jurisprudence and Judicial Process, and Women and Criminal Law, reflecting her enduring commitment to legal scholarship, justice, and academic excellence.
A Gold Medalist in both B.A. LL.B. and LL.M. from the University of North Bengal, she subsequently earned her Ph.D. in Law from the same university. Throughout her illustrious academic career, she has served in various teaching positions before joining the Department of Law at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong. Through her dedication to teaching, research, and institutional service, she rose to the position of Professor and has served as the Head of the Department for four terms, demonstrating exemplary academic leadership and administrative competence.
Professor Jyoti J Mozika , has made significant contribution to legal research and scholarship. She is the author of the acclaimed book Law and Protection of Right to Privacy and the editor of The Just Transition: Navigating Change for a Sustainable Future. She has also contributed several book chapters and published numerous research articles in reputed national and international journals on a wide range of legal issues.
Her commitment to research is further reflected in the successful completion of significant research projects, including a NCW sponsored study on the implementation of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, in Meghalaya. She has actively participated in numerous national and international seminars and conferences as a presenter, session chair, coordinator, and resource person. In addition, she has delivered invited lectures at various academic and professional forums.
Beyond her contributions to teaching and research, Professor Mozika has played a pivotal role in academic administration and institutional development. She has served on the Boards of Studies of several universities, held editorial positions in reputed law journals, and is associated with leading national and international professional organizations. As a dedicated mentor and research supervisor, she has successfully guided several Ph.D. scholars, contributing significantly to the development of legal scholarship and nurturing the next generation of legal academics and researchers.
