Research Statement
Words make up most of my world. I am lucky they also make up most of my livelihood. I earned my Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Georgia in the USA in 1992. Everything I have achieved since that time has been based on my affinity and facility with words, my inherent need to know and learn anything about everything, and a visceral urge to conceive and convey concepts.
As a Professor of Practice at the National Law School Meghalaya, I would like to focus on projects related to law and its myriad and multilayered associations with language, literature, culture, and the performative arts. I would also like to create and deliver varied modules on the rigors of academic writing, legal communication, and soft skills for legal professionals.
